Roswell, Georgia, — GS Yuasa Lithium Power (GYLP), a US subsidiary of GS Yuasa Corporation (GYC) (Tokyo Stock Exchange: 6674), announced today that it had successfully completed delivery of a flight lot of Generation 3 LSE110 lithium-ion cells (110Ah, 3.7V, 412.5Wh) cells to EaglePicher Technologies for integration into a space qualified battery for use in a geostationary earth orbit (GEO) satellite application. The LSE110 lithium-ion cell is specifically engineered to support high-power GEO spacecraft duty cycles and achieve a 15-year or greater mission life. We are thankful for EaglePicher’s continued confidence in GS Yuasa to supply high reliability lithium-ion cells for space on-time and with compelling value.
This latest delivery is a significant achievement as EaglePicher required delivery several months in advance of the typical lead time for these cells. Working with our existing clients to understand their ultimate schedule constraints, we were able to reorganize the principal production schedule to accommodate the build of EaglePicher’s flight cell lot while continuing to meet the needs of all other clients.
