“LSE” Lithium-ion Cells for Space (Generation III)

GS Yuasa’s Generation 3 LSE Li-ion Cells are specially designed and qualified for space applications.  Using an advanced Lithium Cobalt Dioxide(LCO)/Graphite chemistry, the Generation 3 family of cells are optimized for improved capacity retention, higher average discharging voltage, low DCR, and longer working life.  The physical construction of the Generation 3 cells remains unchanged relative to previous generations. This continuity is critical and allows GS Yuasa to maintain all of the heritage accumulated with the LSE family of cells.  The Generation 3 cells are available in either an energy optimized electrode (standard) or power optimized electrode. The only difference between the two electrodes types is coating thickness.

GYLP’s advanced modeling capability enables us to work with your vehicle’s duty cycle data to determine the optimal cell and battery configuration to best match your mission requirements.  With volumes of life and performance data available and a solid connection between industry leading spaceflight heritage without failure and the Li-ion cells offered today, GS Yuasa’s value proposition is stronger now than ever.
